To tie in with the National Year of Reading and July’s theme of “Rhythm and Rhyme” month, we set up a Poetryclass day dedicated to Teachers as Readers.

Teachers were encouraged to imagine, explore and entertain when reading and writing. Sue Dymoke led teachers through three sessions looking at the reading of poetry, capturing responses to poetry through drama, visual images and written speech, and looking at what exactly makes a poem.
