The Josephine Hart Poetry Hour

(Ongoing Event)

nominated by: Rose Astor

Novelist Josephine Hart brings great poetry to the stage read by a well known actor each month at the British Library. The aim is to bring poetry back into people's lives as it is so relevant to the every day. Poetry can provide one “with a route map through the world and its worldliness…Without poetry I would have found life less comprehensible, less bearable, and infinitely less enjoyable.” [Josephine Hart 2005]
All proceeds go to the Actor's Centre and we are planning a book (Christmas 2006)with accompanying CD of 8 evenings (including Edward Fox and Eliot, Brian Cox and Wilde, Bob Geldof and Keats)that we hope will inspire children and adults alike
