Details:

nominated by: Antoinette Fawcett

The Norman Nicholson Society was inaugurated in Millom, Cumbria on 31st March, 2006 in order to celebrate and promote the work of this distinguished writer as widely as possible.

The society will be a focal point for appreciation and research and aims to foster the publication of any of Nicholson's works which are currently out of print.

Talks and events will be arranged throughout the year and the aim is also to launch a Nicholson Festival in 2007.

The Society wishes to find new audiences for Nicholson's work and hopes to promote creative as well as critical responses to the poems, the prose and the drama.
