Poetry Landmarks

Amours De Grimsby, Sean O'Brien

It is a lovely poem, which is fond but never sentimental. It may not seem an instantly poetic place, but there is a steady certainty to it:

It is not a place of great excitement, no ‘girls in states of half-undress’ but that in many ways makes it all the finer.
