The Speakers' Corner

(Ongoing Event)

Details:

nominated by: Andy Humphrey

The Speakers' Corner has been convening in York on the second Wednesday of every month since January 2006 for poetry, storytelling and spoken word performance. As well as a lively, high-quality open mic which welcomes poets and performers at all levels of experience, The Speakers' Corner provides a showcase for guest performers from across the north of England, and increasingly further afield. We meet in the front lounge of The Tap and Spile, 29 Monkgate, a stone's throw from York city centre, with ample parking just on the doorstep. Admission is just 1 - sign up for open mic slots on the door. Second Wednesday of every month, doors open 7.30 for an 8 pm start.
