RSA & Blackwell present an evening with Simon Armitage

(Ongoing Event)

nominated by: Kirsti Prolingheuer

With poet Simon Armitage

Chair: Sean O’Hagan, journalist

In his first collection of prose writing since the highly acclaimed All Points North, acclaimed poet, playwright and broadcaster, Simon Armitage feels that the time has come to face up to a reality which eventually dawns on a great many music lovers at a certain time of their life, namely that he is a failed rock star.

Reflecting on a lifetime’s gig-going, Armitage describes a vast circumference of musical inspiration and influence. This is a deeply personal memoir of a life in which music and poetry have been core.

Join us at this exclusive London event to celebrate the publication of Gig: The Life and Times of a Rock-star Fantasist.

Places are free and open to all. Email us or book online.
