(Associated Place)

Details:

Chilswell House, now known as Carmelite Priory, was where Robert Bridges (1844-1930) lived and died. Bridges was a qualified and practising physician but later diverted to a literary career and became Poet Laureate from 1913-1930. His former home is now a retreat run by a community of Carmelite Friars.
