Garrard's Farm, Uffington

Sir John Betjeman was actively involved in village life in Uffington. During the 1930s he and his wife Penelope rented Garrards Farm and he became People's Warden at the local church. When war broke out in 1939, he willingly joined the Uffington Observer Corps.
