Details:

Poet Laureate Ted Hughes was born on 7 August 1930 at 1 Aspinall Street, Mytholmroyd. Although he moved away from the village, he later returned in the 1940s to live in Heptonstall, just 4 miles from Mytholmroyd. Hughes' birthplace remained a great source of inspiration for his poetry and its beauty was often mentioned in his works.
