Poems on the Underground

Poems on the Underground, founded in 1986, is supported by LUL, Arts Council England and the British Council. Poems are selected and the programme administered by writer Judith Cherniak and poets Gerard Benson and Cicely Herbert. This groundbreaking initiative has become an international phenomenon and an unmistakable part of the landscape of London. The best-selling anthology of all poems displayed on the Tube through 2001, 'Poems on the Underground' (Cassell, 10th edition) is available from all bookshops.
