Poetry Landmarks

Poetry Scotland at the Callander Press

(Poetry Magazine)

Details:

We are a poetry magazine with an associated publishing activity (or vice versa). We produce a lively broadsheet style magazine and very beautiful craft-bound poetry books (including books in Scottish Gaelic). We operate from a Secondhand and Antiquarian bookshop and bindery, We also have a garden and sell plants. Formerly we had a shop in Edinburgh where we held many events and began to build up a community which has been strengthened by the magazine. We now hold events in Callander - there is the Callander Poetry Weekend coming up on Sept 6 and 7, where poets are coming from all over Scotland to read poems, listen and meet one another. We took a group of poets to the Oxford Poetry weekend held in July.
Many tourists and visitors from all over the world come to Callander on tours round the Trossachs and the Highlands, and we reach almost as many poets and readers here in Callander as we did in central Edinburgh in the past.
We would love to be a Poetry Landmark, and the beautiful village of Callander would also be very pleased indeed to be involved. Callander's own website incallander.co.uk would certainly be happy to support this.
