Verlaine & Rimbaud's House

(Associated Place)

Details:

nominated by: Julian Barnes

This is the house where Verlaine and Rimbaud took rooms in 1873. Imagine two of the greatest French poets giving lessons at 10 shillings an hour to English gentlemen in Camden Town - a part of London which reminded Verlaine of Brussels.
