Poetry Landmarks

Brownsbank Cottage

(Associated Place)

Former home of leading Scottish 20th century poet and writer Hugh MacDiarmid - he and his wife Valda lived here for many years and it is now restored as it was before he died. It is a museum but also
the base for the Brownsbank Writer in Residence, a Scottish Arts Council backed post aimed at promoting writing, especially poetry, in the Clydesdale area.
