Child-Friendly Landmark

Creative Arts East is a fast-growing arts development agency which provides practical support to the arts community in Norfolk; directly promotes tours, exhibitions, and one-off performances and readings by professional artists and companies; and develops community-based arts projects which address social issues around isolation and disadvantage.

The agency was formally launched in 2002, and was set up to combine the collective expertise and energy of four smaller arts organisations: Rural Arts East, Norfolk Arts Marketing, Norfolk Literature Development and Create!

Our creative vision is Dreaming, Doing, Developing.

We Dream about
Reaching everyone
Delivering the inspirational
Aspiring to be the best

We are Doing this by
Promoting professional arts in community settings
Supporting disability arts and culture
Creating opportunities for learning through creative expression
Piloting new initiatives and cultural projects
Delivering marketing and information services
Prioritising disadvantaged groups
Contributing to local regeneration
Achieving results

We are Developing through
Gathering information and influencing policy makers
Raising the profile of the arts and increasing audiences
Building relationships with arts and non-arts partners
Increasing the professionalism of the arts sector
Accessing and distributing new resources
Strengthening the infrastructure
Celebrating the arts in Norfolk.

Creative Arts East has a team of two working in Literature Development: Lisa D'Onofrio is Literature Development Officer and Sara Wingate-Gray is Literature Development Co-ordinator.

Literature Development is a strong part of CAE, and Literature Development Officer, Lisa D'Onofrio, should be your first port of call for all things literary-related in Norfolk.

Creative Arts East is currently running a number of literature projects including a programme of events at the Library in Norwich, All-Write, a creative writing project aimed at young people, as well as providing support and promotion for other literature initiatives all over Norfolk.

Young people from St Augustine's school in Norwich have had the chance to work on their creative writing skills with performance poet Jared Louche, as part of the BLip project.

Whether you are a writer or a reader join the Norfolk Literature Network newsletter for information, news, events listings and competitions.
