Poetry Landmarks

Wenlock Edge, Shropshire. From AE Housmans compilation, a "Shropshire Lad"

(Poem)

Details:

nominated by: Katharine Hope

Wenlock Edge and The Wrekin can be seen from the A5 heading west.
This poem is emphasises the power of the Autumn wind and how it has disturbed both leaves, and mankind through time.

I find both the opening couplet, and the actual sight of Wenlock Edge, very stirring.
